Stress & Related Issues

It is not the amount of Stress that can cause concern.
It is how to deal with it that needs to be addressed.

With today's type of lifestyles we all too often we become the victims of stress.
Symptoms of stress can appear in many forms: Fatigue, Psychosomatic pains/illnesses, Insomnia, Panic attacks, Anxiety & Depression, are just a few symptoms that can be related to stress.

The cause of stress is as varied as there are people. But the onset is always the same "FEAR"
Negative situations cause worry. Worry produces Fear.

When fear is experienced the body produces large amounts of adrenaline, Adrenaline is a hormone secreted from the adrenal gland. Its function is to prepare the body for the "Fight or Flight" syndrome. It basically puts the body into survival mode. In doing this it increases muscular activity, heart rate, breathing, blood pressure etc. This is fine in the short term if we need to fight or flee for our life but the majority of the time that is not the case. We have adopted a different lifestyle to our caveman ancestor so all this adrenaline is left unused but still functioning within the body.
In releasing adrenaline into the body in order for it it to prepare the body for survival it decreases certain natural functions the body needs for long term good health. It suppresses the immune system, it suppresses the digestive system and it stops natural chemicals and antibodies from being produced. As you can imagine this can have damaging long tem effects on the body. Because of this heightened state various symptoms may surface, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety etc. These all affect the way we think and react in our daily lives. Temper is on a short fuse, concentration is almost non existent and memory fails. Thoughts become more and more negative and self destructive. Small everyday issues become insurmountable. This increases the "Fear" and so the cycle continues.

Insomnia (Sleep Deprivation)
Everyone from time to time suffers in one form or another of uncomfortable nights and sleep patterns being disturbed. It only becomes an issue when the these patterns become a regular occurrence night after night.

Insomnia can appear in various ways:
Getting off to sleep may be your problem.
Waking several times during the night.
Waking too early and be unable to fall back to sleep.
Each one of these patterns can be classed as insomnia and usually the associated cause is stress.
Hypnosis and NLP deals with the cause, the stress, plus alleviates the symptoms of Insomnia enabling a peaceful night's sleep every night.

Panic Attacks, Anxiety
Panic attacks should be dealt with as soon as they start. They are the result of a build up of fear and negative experiences even going back into childhood. The unconscious mind retains the memory, with the emotion just as it was experienced at that time. Further on in life more negative situations arrive that may not relate to the previous experiences but the unconscious mind produces the retained emotion which can totally distort the latest situation out of all proportion. So the onset of a panic attack does not always appear to have an obvious cause.
Emotions have a strong effect on the mind and body and the physical symptoms of a panic attack can be extremely disturbing, shortness of breath, nausea, sweating, palpitations are just a few examples. We become more and more fearful of suffering panic attacks which in itself produces more attacks. Subsequent attacks only strengthen the now learned response in the mind to keep repeating the pattern. It has developed into a habitual response. The sufferer lives in a constant state of anxiety and tries to avoid any situation that maybe slightly stressful or uncomfortable in order to keep the attacks under control.

Combining Hypnosis and NLP
Breaks the Habitual Pattern of the Panic Attacks
Alleviates the Retained Emotional Triggers
Provides Relaxation and Well Being

Nerves
Nerves can experienced in hundreds of different circumstances. Although not always debilitating they can intrude into daily life. Below is a list of some of the more common nervous situations we often find ourselves in.

• A trip to the dentist • Public speaking
• Interviews • Taking tests or exams
• A new job • Wedding nerves
• Meeting new people • Driving to new places

Nerves can develop into anxiety but can often remain just one of those life niggling experiences we all have to go through from time to time. However if we feel we fail at interviews time after time because of nerves or maybe put off going to the dentist until we really need to then maybe it is time to address the situation.
Hypnosis is very effective in helping in dealing with this.
It provides a calmer response to those situations we find an ordeal. It builds on confidence for those areas such as public speaking, new jobs, etc. It eliminates those unnecessary jittery feelings that can so often lead to stress.
